Speaking the Truth

We don’t like to speak the truth about evil because we’re going to hurt somebody. Let me tell you, you are going to hurt somebody, but that Somebody is God. If you would rather hurt God than your neighbor, there is something wrong with your spirituality. It’s your obligation to speak the truth and everyone can either take it or leave it. But truth must be in us. We live in such poverty of the truth today.

I LOVE GOD!!

Have you ever wondered why there's evil? Why God allows evil to be in the world? Well, I have some posts coming up that may help us with that with wisdom from Mother Angelica. I believe, I truly believe, that bad things happen for a reason.

This morning, I woke up, tired, took a shower, dried my hair, got some coffee, and sat down on the computer to do my morning blogging, reading, and thinking. It was also the kids first day back at school and my son got up early (of course). So that makes me grumpy. My youngest got up early too, but she ended up going back to sleep. The morning continued with my oldest getting up at 7:30, just in time to get ready for school. Boy was it a hectic morning! I felt so disorganized and every time I turned around, I felt like my mess was laughing at me. And how much do we want to blame our kids for our unhappiness? It's so easy isn't it? But I knew it wasn't their fault.

Well, right before the kids were supposed to get out to the bus, I told the two older to get their shoes on. My oldest did, but my son did not. I came into the kitchen and lost my temper. I yelled at him. He got his shoes on, and his coat (right away I might add) and we got out to the bus in time.

I learned my lesson. You know why? Because IIIIII was disorganized. Not my kids, not my husband, ME!! I didn't have everything ready that I should have. And now I know not to let my daughter sleep till 7:30. I told her that she needs to get up at 7:00.

I also know that organization is the key to a good morning. I knew that before, but I really know it now. See? Good really does come from bad!!

It is so easy to blame everyone else rather than look at where we have failed. I say to my children all the time, it takes a big person to stand up and say I was wrong and shouldn't have done that. It is much easier to blame circumstances and others than ourselves.

Have you read Holly Pierlot's book, a mothers rule of life? It really changed my outlook on my vocation as a mother and having everything organised. Between Holly and flylady I have started to have a pretty organised schedule for our household chores and home schooling program.

No I have not read that book yet, but I will add it to my list. That's where I get most of my content for my blog from. I LOVE to read. I'm still learning a lot about being Catholic. And I have heard good things about flylady, but have not looked. But I NEED to!!

Thanks!

If you start with fly lady, read her book. Don't sign up for her emails. I was overwhelmed by them and quit only a couple of days into it. Holly's book gave me a great Catholic perspective on being a mum and fly lady gave me a greater understanding of needing to de clutter. It is a constant work in progress really. I finish one room and then start another one.

It really is non-stop isn't it?! And I was looking at some books that my sister-in-law just gave me to read and Holly's book is in there! She said I bought it for her last year. It was in our local Catholic Book Store and I got it for her last year. That will be the next one I read. I was flipping through it and saw the organizational stuff in the back. Nice!

Another good one to read, although she's not a Catholic author, is A Woman After God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George. I really liked that because it focused on loving God and creating that in your life. It was awesome!

Anyway, thanks so much for writing and the advice!! God Bless.
