Speaking the Truth

We don’t like to speak the truth about evil because we’re going to hurt somebody. Let me tell you, you are going to hurt somebody, but that Somebody is God. If you would rather hurt God than your neighbor, there is something wrong with your spirituality. It’s your obligation to speak the truth and everyone can either take it or leave it. But truth must be in us. We live in such poverty of the truth today.

The Fourth Degree of Prayer

The fourth degree of prayer is Prayer of the Soul. This one is a tough one because it's when you can feel God's presence in everyone. How hard is that?! How hard it is to see our Lord in others when they are saying mean things to us. How hard it is to see our Lord in others when they support abortion, the killing of our unborn children. How hard it is to see our Lord in others when we see them stealing or committing some other crime.

I definitely haven't gotten there yet!! I try. I keep it in my mind, but I haven't quite perfected this one. I don't think that too many of us can say that we have!! :)
