Mother Angelica reminds us that prayer isn't always about us. If we see our brother in pain or in need of God's help we should pray for him. If we see our brother sinning, we should pray for him: "If anyone sees his brother sinning, if the sin is not deadly, he should pray to God and He will give him life." (1 John 5:16) I posted more on that at Daily Catholic Devotionals.
So not only think about you when you pray, open your mind and your heart to others who may need Him, especially if they don't know they do....
Speaking the Truth
We don’t like to speak the truth about evil because we’re going to hurt somebody. Let me tell you, you are going to hurt somebody, but that Somebody is God. If you would rather hurt God than your neighbor, there is something wrong with your spirituality. It’s your obligation to speak the truth and everyone can either take it or leave it. But truth must be in us. We live in such poverty of the truth today.
