Speaking the Truth

We don’t like to speak the truth about evil because we’re going to hurt somebody. Let me tell you, you are going to hurt somebody, but that Somebody is God. If you would rather hurt God than your neighbor, there is something wrong with your spirituality. It’s your obligation to speak the truth and everyone can either take it or leave it. But truth must be in us. We live in such poverty of the truth today.

A Letter From My Heart

May our Lord bless you and keep you in His care.
You have made the ultimate sacrifice, against your will.
Your mother and your father decided they didn't want you.
You may even feel they hated you.

I don't hate you.
I'm sorry I didn't speak up.
I'm sorry I didn't do something to stop this.
I'm sorry we didn't get the chance to know you.
I'm sorry we didn't give you that chance.

God loves you so much.
I know you are safe now.
Maybe we will see each other some day.
I think about you all the time.

I'm so very sorry what we have turned into.
I pray that it changes some day.
But I know it will take some time.

I just want you to know that I wish things were different.
I just want you to know that I'm praying hard.
I just want you to know that I love you.

So...

OK so it's been a while since I have written.  Things catch up with me fast.  The kiddos really keep me on my toes!

There have been quite a few things on my mind lately though that have been giving me headaches.  It gets me so irritated that I end up clenching my teeth in frustration.  Ever since I found my way to God and His truths, I want everyone else to see it too.  The way a family functions, the way women are perceived (and men too by the way~ portrayed as bubbling idiots on television), abortion, gay marriage, the list goes on.

I get confused with how much to get involved in.  I have three children and one on the way.  I know that my first job is to be a wife to my husband, and then a good mom to my children.  I get that and totally accept every part of that.  But I also feel like if I don't DO something, my headaches are going to get worse.  For instance, abortion really irks me.  I just don't understand how we can keep letting people misconstrue the definition of a life to make our lives easier.  And there's the kicker, "choice" doesn't even make our lives easier!! Do you know how many times I have heard women say, "It wasn't an easy choice to make."  Then why fight for the right to make it?? Who in the world wants to have to decide whether or not to kill their own baby?

And what is really frustrating is that the main argument in favor of abortion is that the baby can't survive outside of the womb, so it's OK to kill it.  DUH!!!! It's not SUPPOSED to be able to live outside the womb!!! That's mother nature! It's the way GOD created things to be! It happens in humans AND in animals! And if we're going on the argument that we should be able to kill the baby because it needs a mother, then are we going to say that until the age of 15 or so that we can kill the child because he needs me?? NO WAY! It makes absolutely NO SENSE to me whatsoever.

Since when was it a crime for a baby to need her mother (AND father by the way)?? It's so infuriating.  It's this mentality that strips women of our femininity.  We are stripping ourselves of our freedoms, rights and gifts to be female.  And it's other females mostly that are doing it! It just absolutely blows my mind that women are allowing themselves to be subjected like this.  I know, the probably don't even realize what they are doing.

I could go on about birth control.  Really.  Birth control FREES us?? NO WAY!! If anything, it promotes promiscuity and situations where we contract a sexually transmitted disease that could KILL us! Or we end up with pregnancies we didn't intend for so we opt to kill the baby instead of be responsible for our actions.  Ugh.  It just makes my stomach churn and if I'm not careful, my headache will come back soon.  Seriously, why can't we talk to our children about sex the same way we talk to them about drugs... "Just say NO!" Drugs can kill us, so can sex.  The birth control pill is a drug, and the condom is less effective than natural family planning! We are supposed to be the most intelligent beings on the face of this Earth! So why aren't we acting like it?!

Oh my goodness I could just go on and on.  I need a venue.  I need something to do to change something.  To just change one person's way of thinking....  I know that forcing info down their throats doesn't work, but this makes so much sense to me and it's frustrating that we walk around lying to each other to make a buck.  I know I need to throw this all up to God, and I did that the other day at Church and have felt better, but I feel like I need to yell at the world.  WAKE UP AMERICA!!!

Thanks for letting me vent.  I'm done, for now.

Red Envelopes

This afternoon I was praying about a number of things, and my mind began to
wander. I was deeply distressed at the symbolic actions that President
Obama took as he began his presidency. Namely, that he signed executive
orders releasing funds to pay for abortions, permission to fund human stem
cell research
, and federal funding for contraception. I have been involved
in the pro-life movement for nearly 20 years, and it pained my heart to see
a man and a political party committed to the shedding of innocent blood.
This man, and this party lead our country, but they do not represent me or
the 54% of Americans who believe that abortion is wrong and should no longer
be legal.

As I was praying, I believe that God gave me an interesting idea. Out in
the garage I have a box of red
envelopes. Like the powerful image of the
red LIFE tape, an empty red envelope will send a message to President Barack
Obama
that there is moral outrage in this country over this issue. It will
be quiet, but clear.

Here is what I would like you to do:

Get a red envelope. You can buy them at Kinkos, or at party supply stores.
On the front, address it to

President Barack Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Washington, D.C.

On the back, write the following message.

This envelope represents one child who died in abortion.
It is empty because that life was unable to offer anything to the world.
Responsibility begins with conception.

Put it in the mail, and send it. Then forward this email to every one of
your friends who you think would send one too. I wish we could send 50
million red envelopes, one for every child who died before having a a chance
to live. Maybe
it will change the heart of the president.

Warmly,

Christ John Otto

More on Abortion

I was reading my email this morning and got an inspiring email from a pro-life friend from Church. It has inspired me to blog more of "the truth" about what abortion really is. For instance, it's murder. I think it's important we begin to use that word more because that's what it really is.

We have pro-choicers who say it's the woman's right to choose. Choose what? Murder? Murder of her own baby? It seems pretty animalistic to me. It's animalistic to give into our sexual desires with full knowledge that we could create a human life, only to have the "choice" to kill it. Because that's what it is isn't it? Killing your own baby?

Then we have women in the feminist movement that say, "I don't want the government to tell me what to do!" Huh? Does the government not tell you that you can't shoot your mother in the head? Does the government not tell you that you have to send your kids to school? Does the government not tell you that you have to pay taxes? Does the government not tell you that you can't force sex on another human being? The government tells us a lot of things we can't morally do without being punished. So why can't they tell us it's not OK to kill our unborn children?

How horrible that the sexual freedom we feel has brought us to this animalistic behavior. And the saddest part is that most of us don't even realize what it's doing to our culture.

Trying to Keep Up

Hi All,

Sorry I haven't been so diligent in posting. It has been pretty crazy around here the past couple of days. We had some snow days, and I had errands and volunteering at school to do. So it doesn't leave a lot of time to do my lovely blogging!!

Anyway, just wanted to make sure you guys knew that I haven't gone away, and I hope to get some info out to you this weekend from Mother Angelica and Father Frank. Make sure you follow the news and pay close attention to this "stimulus" package. It looks like Pelosi thinks that providing birth control (contraceptives, abortion...) is the best way to go because in the long run, it's expensive to raise a child. I'm not sure what's going to happen, but it looks like they took out the part of the package that supports increased federal funding to birth control. Yeah, that's a good idea. Not sure how they think THAT would "stimulate" the economy.

Anyway, so many thoughts I have on the subject, but don't have time right now to write them all. Kids are up and I have to go get them!!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Ambivalent

I went to a Pro-Life meeting last night in our County and came away feeling a little ambivalent about it. They are part of the National Right to Life. Anyway, I got there late with a friend of mine and was surprised to see who I saw. If it wasn't for quite a few new people, there would have only been one female at this meeting and several men, mainly older.

These folks are highly committed to the pro-life movement and do not mean them any disrespect with this post at all. I am just surprised, no not really, but I guess disappointed, that there weren't more women involved. And there weren't any black, hispanic, or any other minority group there.

These guys also don't have a webpage, no blog, no way of reaching out more to others on the Internet. So we discussed getting the word out there more that way. I'm glad that the new folks coming in are going to be able to get this group going even more. Recruit some young people, females, and minority groups.

I heard a startling statistic last night: 9 out of 11 black women who get pregnant abort their babies. I think he arrived at that statistic with the information that black people, or African Americans, make up 12% of the population, and receive 35% of the abortions. He did some math and came up with the ratio of 9:11.

Also startling: 1 out of 3 women who find out they're pregnant get abortions. That is a lot of babies dying and a lot of women who get hurt.

There was a man there also from 40 Days for Life to talk to us. That was VERY cool! It was kind of surreal. I found out about 40 Days during the election and kind of did my own thing until the 40 days was up. This guy is looking for volunteers!! WOW!! This is very exciting. Essentially, for 40 days, volunteers pray outside of an abortion clinic. They not only pray that abortion will end there, but that God will be with those mothers and children as they go through with their decision to abort. They are there for 40 days. Very powerful.

There are other things we can do too. Door-to-door, novenas, praying, fasting... anything your life will allow. So if you're interested in doing this with us, and there isn't a group in your area, let me know. The dates are February 25- April 5. During that time, I will most likely be fasting and praying, and blogging of course. I may even do some of the vigil, not sure about door-to-door. We will have to see what my schedule allows, and hubby! :)

March for Life

I can't believe that I haven't posted about the March for Life today. What a dork. I guess I was distracted. Anyway, it's funny how these things happen, or as a friend of mine says "Christidental" (get it?). I picked up my book by Father Pavone with a quick free second I had before the kiddoes went to bed. I had marked a bunch of pages to post about and lo and behold, I marked the March for Life.

The March for Life, as I'm sure many of you already know, takes place in D.C. It is actually taking place right now, as we speak. Faith and Family Live! is showing EWTN today on their site, where of course, they are viewing the march. It is a time of a peaceful presentation of our First Amendment rights to our freedom of speech. Friends meet, prayers are said, hymns are sung.... The day ends with the Rose Dinner which is meant to honor those who participate in the Pro-Life Movement.

So, Father Frank gives us four insights into what this important event accomplishes:

1. It gives voice to the children. Obviously the unborn do not have a voice. They cannot speak up loud enough to cry out for its life. It's important that we become more heard all the time, not silent.

I would like to reference the old Horton Hears a Who movie. It amazes me the pro-life message that is prevalent in that movie. I haven't seen the new one so I don't know how close it is. But in the old video, the "Who's" to me are the unborn babies that are screaming, but no one can hear. And throughout this video, Horton continuously says "A person's a person, no matter how small." So true. So true.

2. It gives encouragement to our friends in government. Can you imagine what it must be like to be a pro-life Senator right now? I bet they might feel a little alone, a little beat in this arena. This march gives them hope. It tells them that their efforts and voice in Congress does not go unheard. They need to continue to do their job, and we should continue to do ours.

3. It encourages us. Just like those in Congress, I'm sure there are those regular folks on the ground that get discouraged. We always run into ignorance. We run into those that are unwilling to listen to the truth, or just choose not to. It can be very frustrating. This march gives them hope too. They see that there are many others who are supporting their ever-important, life-saving efforts.

4. It trains young leaders. Father Frank says that he got his inspiration from this march when he was in high school. Imagine seeing these people, so devoted to their beliefs and so motivated to save human life. How inspiring that must be to others. To others who are open to hear it anyway. If God has opened one's heart to hearing the truth, this march could change their life forever. And maybe other lives too.

So, tune in to EWTN. Try to watch a little bit of this march. It obviously plays several different roles in the pro-life movement. Maybe it will move you to do something differently too. Become a Warrior Soul.

Bitter Sweet

That's what today is bitter sweet. Today is Inauguration Day and I'm not going to watch it. I'm going to a friend's house to pray the Rosary to our Blessed Mother. We will begin praying around 11 am EST. Please, if you can, join us in prayer, from your home, at that time. Maybe that will strengthen our prayers to open President Obama's heart to God, as he suggests in his own book, and govern our country with morals and direction that lead to Heaven.

Today is a bitter day because we have voted in a President who has no respect for life. We put other gods before our own God like money, in this election and it's very sad.

Today, well the election, was sweet in the way that I came back to my Catholic faith. I feel so strongly about my belief in God and my belief in my faith as a Catholic, that NOTHING will be able to break that.

So, bitter sweet. I am so much more than bitter, but that's all I can do with this right now. So tune in today to my blog. I'm going to be posting quite a bit of abortion information as well as pro-life. So I hope you will come back to read and comment as today progresses. I will be praying that Obama makes the right choices during his presidency.

Alveda King

For those of you who don't know, Alveda King is Dr. King's niece. She is a pro-life Republican speaking out against Obama and his policies. I just read an article she wrote about Dr. King's speech and how it could apply to the election (which of course is over now). But that doesn't erase the fact that she says Dr. King would have spoken out against Obama and his pro-abortion views.

Dr. King, in his speech, states "I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."

Hmmmmm.... Really think about that statement. The "content of their character," NOT the color of their skin. Do you think we did that? Do you think we voted for Obama because of the "content of his character?" I don't think so and Ms. King doesn't either. She goes into detail here in this article, reclaiming Dr. King's "legacy" and discussing her own anguish at having an abortion.

Time to Pray

Well, I guess it's always a time to pray, isn't it? But right now is more important than ever. In our struggles to overcome abortion and increase a woman's dignity and self-respect, Krispy Kreme doughnuts does something ignorant. They are actually going to be giving out doughnuts in celebration of our freedom of "choice."

I think it's sad, and I also think this is sick. But this is what our America has become today. We voted in the most liberal Senator in the United States Senate as our next President. He has associated himself with ministers who "God-d**n" America and yet he's our President. He has told us that the first thing he's going to do is sign FOCA which takes away our freedom of choice because our money, whether we like it or not, is going to help women have abortions. It will also take away my rights as a parent if my children should ever go down that path. FOCA takes away everything regulating abortion.

I just can't believe that these big corporations can be so heartless and disrespectful of human life. Disrespectful of the group of people that are against this "freedom of choice" as they call it. How come this is fair? How come it's OK to throw "freedom of choice" in our face? How is this not an act of hatred toward us and our unborn children?

OK, I just took a deep breath. I find this very offensive. How do we handle this? What can we do? Well, we can pray, but there has to be something more. Do we contact Krispy Kreme? Will that help? Well, I guess we could try....

Here is a link to the blog where I found the info: Krispy Kreme Celebrates "Freedom of Choice"

Ann Coulter

Well, here we go again. Apparently Ann Coulter has a new book out called "Guilty: Liberal 'Vicitms' and Their Assault on America." Just the title alone can tell you that it's somewhat of controversy amongst our liberal media. While I think that Ann Coulter can be rather brazen, I think all in all she makes a good point. It's just that no one wants to hear it.

No one wants to hear that the media and modern feminists have changed the way we think about our lives. Sex has become the focal point. The original feminist movement was about equality for women. Sexual freedom and birth control does not create equality for us. It stifles our equality.

Birth control has been portrayed to us as what us women need to make ourselves equal to men. Well, let's take a look at that scenario. A woman and a man meet. They really like each other. They decide, maybe after a few dates, or maybe after one, that they want to have sex with each other. They are physically attracted. The man puts a condom on, the woman makes sure she takes that pill, and they have intercourse. Well, the point of intercourse is to procreate. That's what God created sex for (and might I remind you that he created it as something sacred that's supposed to happen between a married man and a married woman). A couple of weeks go by, and the woman misses her period. She takes the pregnancy test and she's pregnant.

And let's just say for the sake of conversation that after their first night of passion, the man disappears never to be seen again. No phone number, no last name, no address, no nothing. What is a girl to do? Well says modern feminists, you can abort your baby! Fabulous! (I'm being facetious here.) She doesn't have to be "boggled down" with a baby even though she committed the very act, with perfect knowledge, that she could get pregnant. Most of us know that birth control is not 100% effective, right? We know the consequences. And there are many abortions that occur because our pregnancy was an "accident." And accident is when we run into someone else in a car because they pulled out in front of us. We didn't know that was going to happen. But when we lay down and have sex, we know, because we are intelligent human beings, that we can get pregnant from this very act that we call "freedom."

So this woman has an abortion and kills her baby. She is scarred mentally and physically from this decision. She thinks about this baby that she killed for her freedom every day. She is resentful of her decision and lives with disrespect for herself for the rest of her life. And the baby has suffered also because he/she was denied its life.

So how is this freedom for us? How does this give us women freedom? It doesn't!! The liberal media and modern feminists have fooled us ladies. They have fooled us into thinking that we can be free like men when it comes to sex. Who cares about sex!!! Aren't there more important things that you want your daughters to be worried about?! Aren't there more important things your daughter, and your son, could do with their life than have SEX whenever they want?!? How did this 3-letter word become so important? I'll tell you: Through our liberal media.

So you can watch this video and think that Ann Coulter is crazy, out of her mind, and that's fine, but she speaks the truth. She speaks with facts and sometimes being wrong makes us angry.. And if we don't act fast, our children will grow up with the same liberal thinking and may just end up being one of those women who think that their freedom lies with sex, not God. Or our sons will think they are free enough to have sex with whomever they choose because that girl can have an abortion, or they can walk away. It's not right. So let's start standing up for ourselves and our God-given freedom to use our brain. To be smart women. We are being fooled and the liberals are laughing at us.

Isaac's Playground

I just caught wind of this site from my mother-in-law. This is a blog that a mother created when she lost her little boy. She found out while she was pregnant that her baby was very ill. He was either going to die inside of her, be stillborn, or die quickly after birth.

Instead of aborting their baby, these parents decided to keep their baby and let God's plan go. Well, the baby lived for 14 minutes and their story is here: http://sgirl79.blogspot.com.

This is an inspiring story of two parents who still, through this horrible grief, have faith in God and His greatness. I'm sure they felt a great deal of sorrow from losing their child, but they know he is in Heaven now with our Father. And that brings them comfort.

Looking at situations like this makes me count my blessings. But it also helps me to keep my faith in God, even through the tough times.

So visit and support women and men who choose LIFE.

Another great site to visit is: www.benotafraid.net.

Thank you

Fight FOCA NOW!

I received an email from a friend yesterday, or the day before I can't remember, about FOCA. It is very informative and our fight to END abortion is still ongoing. If FOCA goes into effect, our fight will get even harder. This bill will essentially eliminate any restrictions on abortion and that not only puts our unborn children at risk, but our children who are already here.... Here is the email. Copy and paste this into an email and send out to as many people as you can. Don't worry about hurting someone's feelings. This is about lives being saved and we should all do our part to stand up for God. Thank you so much for your time!

Please, I want everyone to look at and examine what the
Freedom of Choice Act would do to the current state laws that have been passed in the last few years.

Please act quickly as Pres-Elect Obama stated during his candidacy that he would sign FOCA.

Text of the house bill,

http://www.opencongress.org/bill/110-h1964/text

Text of the Senate Bill

http://www.opencongress.org/bill/110-s1173/text

Info from a site the practical impact with specific details about what the bill would nullify (there is a retroroactive section and nullification of any future laws that would limit abortion in any way, including parental notification, and abortion at any stage of the baby's growth if determined by the attending physician, which many are profiting from woman's babies they are aborting)

http://www.masscitizensforlife.org/foca.html

Besides that I believe and see proof life begins at conception, I think profiting from the hardships and gut-wrenching decision to terminate your child or not should not be a for-profit business and funded by the taxpayer.

Please distribute to all people you can throughout the USA.

I hope you will research then decide to contact your representatives to vote against the FOCA.

The Guilt of an Abortion

I got this link from a pro-life friend of mine. He works very closely with a local pregnancy center in my area. Anyway, this is a story of a woman who had an abortion after finding out her baby was going to be disabled. You can read about her guilt that she feels daily, and has been for nine years.

The pro-life movement isn't just about saving our unborn children, it's about saving the lives of women too.

Mixed Signals

From the desk of Father Frank Pavone:

The next section of the book, Father talks about how we can change the way we talk about the unborn in order to create a greater sense of "personhood." (my word) If we can come out of thinking about the child as "coming," as "expected" and start thinking of that child as "already here," then we can change the language we use about a pregnant woman.

If I haven't confused you already, let me explain. Father Pavone wants our message to be that the unborn child is already here. So instead of saying that a couple has "one on the way," say things like "she is carrying a child."

He also says that as soon as a woman knows she is pregnant, the couple should choose a name. Obviously pick one boy and one girl name, but a name should be chosen right away because that baby is a person. I think about my son being born and we didn't name him for HOURS after he was born. We just couldn't agree on a boy's name, so we didn't pick one. I guess we were in that mindset of not a baby worth naming until he was "here," when in fact, he was already "here."

Just doing these small things can help us as pro-lifers to cultivate a culture of life. To cultivate a culture of accepting life when life actually begins. To cultivate a culture of respect for the baby and for the mother. Changing the way we have been taught is not easy, but it can be done.

If anyone has any other suggestions for how we can change our verbage so we don't give "mixed signals" please do so in your comments. Thanks so much!!
